President’s Letter June 2023
Dear Seattle Metals Guild Members,
I hope this newsletter finds you all in good health and high spirits as we enter the beautiful month of June. We have been bustling with exciting developments here at the Seattle Metals Guild, and I'm thrilled to share the latest updates with you. From our upcoming Annual Meeting to the launch of our new website, and the highly anticipated Women's Shelter Jewelry Project jewelry sale, there's something for everyone in our guild this month!
I cordially invite you to join us for our Annual Meeting, a cherished tradition in the guild. This year, we are holding the meeting on Sunday, June 4th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Micki Lippe’s house on Capitol Hill. Please check your emails for more info on that! It's an excellent opportunity for us to connect, share ideas, and contribute to the growth of our guild. If you'd like, bring a piece (or a small collection) of your work for the ice breaker table! We did this at the last general meeting and it was a great place to start conversations and get to know each other! We’re also looking forward to presentations by our Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, Andy Cooperman, and our Emerging Artist Grant Recipient, Michelle Lierre.
Exciting news! I am thrilled to announce the launch of our new and improved Seattle Metals Guild website. (Hopefully the new site is active now, if not, keep checking back!) Our website has undergone a complete makeover, making it more user-friendly and visually appealing. Now, you can access valuable resources, stay updated with guild activities, and browse through our members' stunning portfolios all in one place. I invite you to visit our new website at www.seattlemetalsguild.org and explore all the exciting features it has to offer. Your feedback is valuable, so please let us know what you think. We always appreciate hearing from our members.
The Women's Shelter Jewelry Project holds a special place in our hearts, and I'm thrilled to announce that there will be a jewelry sale on June 11th. This special sale will take place at the Shafer Baillie Mansion at 907 14th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112, from 10am - 4pm. All proceeds will benefit victims of domestic violence and other women-centered organizations in the Puget Sound region. This is also a perfect time to clean out your jewelry box and bring your donations!
Save the date for our annual Seattle Metals Guild Symposium on October 7th 2023. Huge thanks to the Symposium committee for putting it all together!
That's all for now! I hope you have an extraordinary June filled with creativity, camaraderie, and personal growth. As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Wishing you all the best,
Nina
