The year was 2001, I made a life changing decision to leave the corporate world to follow my passion and heart and create jewelry. I started my journey in becoming a jewelry artist in 1998 making beaded jewelry as a hobby. The hobby grew into a passion and it seemed a natural progression that I pursue working in metal. I began taking adult education classes in making jewelry at Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle and North Seattle Community College.
For over 20 years I had been a needlework artist, making large tapestries in needlepoint. I enjoyed designing the canvas, creating texture using various threads and stitches that gave depth and dimension to my work. My jewelry designs are greatly influenced by textile patterns and textures.
I work primarily in sterling silver, incorporating gold and semi-precious stones. My jewelry is hand fabricated one of a kind wearable art, that is bold in structure and size, often with a strong architectural influence. I am drawn to working with stones that are domed, elongated, that entice you to touch them and feel their energy.
I am constantly pursuing new and different ways to approach design elements that add interest and balance my work.
